About Buddha

The title "Buddha" is most commonly used for Siddhartha Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, who is often known as "the Buddha". The word Buddha means "awakened one" or "enlightened one", according to some traditions, the title is literally translated as "the knowing one". The title "Buddha" can also be used for all awakened / enlightened beings. There are also the five celestial Buddhas who are worshipped by many followers. There were and will be many Buddhas and all living beings can become a Buddha.

A Buddha is a being who has realized the natural, true and undefiled luminous state of mind that allows them to see reality 'as it is'. All sentient beings are born in this state. Being pure aware without any defilements within the mind, all beings have the potential to become a Buddha. Many beings have reached an awakened state of mind many times in your life, but because we are born in ignorance and the mind is covered by personal habits, assumptions and afflictions we simply don't know, recognize or realize this luminous state of mind.

Awakening is the proces of realizing our natural state of mind and can be maintained by practicing meditation, trying to quiet the thinking intellectual mind and getting rid of all kinds of defilements. The goal is to become pure awareness without any conception or intelligence and finding the absence of an independent and substantial "self". Sunyata is the emancipation of the mind by emptiness being consequent upon the realization that "this world is empty of self or anything pertaining to self". Realizing the truth of no-self is a way that leads to the liberation from all worldy things that only exist within the mind.

When you awaken you will see reality as it is and realize that all is that we see, hear, smell, taste and touch. Our senses and thoughts make up the whole existence and everyrhing that exists is conditioned within the mind. The moment you know and realize that everything is but a manifestation of the mind, you have awakened and can see that nothing can exist without the other.

Beyond the thinking and perceiving mind dharma wisdom is found, cosmic laws and order that can be applied to all mental constructs that are cognized within the mind. This wisdom is shared on Knowbuddha.com.

Buddha hopes these teachings will guide you and help beings finding the way to liberation of the mind that brings an end to all suffering.

May all beings experience the bliss of universal truth. May all minds be purified. May all beings be liberated and enjoy real peace, joyful bliss, harmony and happiness. May all beings live a happy life without any suffering.
